Erika Mahr was born on Long Island, New York. She received her MFA from Hunter College and currently lives and works in the Hudson of Valley of New York. Mahr has had solo exhibitions at LAUNCH F18, Hap Gallery, and The Susan B. Hilles Gallery. Her work has been included in recent group exhibitions at The New Hampshire Institute, the Seattle Art Fair, Theirry Goldberg Gallery, A.I.R. Gallery and Art Current, among others. Mahr received a fellowship from the New York Foundation for the Arts in 2009, was a recipient of the Joshua Tree Highlands Residency in 2016, and was nominated for the 2011, 2012 and 2013 Rema Hort Mann Foundation Visual Art Grant.

Erika Mahr is a very grounded abstract minimalist artist that incorporates drawings and sculptural elements that is worth meeting. She recently had another solo exhibition of her ongoing series Paper Folds in one of LAUNCHF18 's viewing rooms where she presents monochromatic works on paper with 2D and 3D designs.
In their online journal, ABSTRACT Mag features Future Starts Slow at LAUNCH F18. The gallery's group exhibition featuring the work of Chiaozza, Corinne Bernard, Nathan Dilworth, Erika Mahr, Dan Perkins, Taylor O. Thomas and Rose Vickers.

Last Saturday May 3rd, Arte Fuse attended the opening for Screens and Shrouds by Erika Mahr at Launch F18. Tim Donovan and Sam Trioli run the space and together they curate fantastic shows.
